In the first video at right, a Great Egret (Ardea alba) wades picturesquely in Midway Swash, a tidal creek in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In the background is heavily-traveled Ocean Boulevard, and just out of view to the right of the picture is Damon's Grill.
In the lower video at right, taken only a few seconds after the previous video, the Great Egret spots its prey in the water, hovers, then strikes. Dinner is a fresh fish, and the diner did not have to wait for seating at Damon's!
