Sign for Competition Alley, the only street remaining unchanged in dimension and location from its configuration in the original town map. The sign is mounted on the former J. I. Overbey Hardware building.

Competition Alley commemorative marker:

Competition Alley: Last unchanged street of the original Town of Competition (1807–1852). Dedicated as a historical landmark by Chatham First, Inc., Pittsylvania Historical Society, and the Town of Chatham, December 6, 2008.

The sign is mounted on the building that was formerly Dave Jefferson's Chatham Furniture and Undertaking.
