DRY FORK — James David Yeatts Jr., 59, of 756 Hopewell Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at his residence.

Born Aug. 26, 1947, in Danville, he was the son of Jerleen Sigmon Yeatts and the late James D. Yeatts. He was retired from J.D. Yeatts and Son, Inc., a company he founded, along with his father. He served in the National Guard.

He was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, a graduate of Chatham High School, and received an accounting degree from Danville Community College. He served on the board and as past treasurer of Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department.

He was married to Carol Jones Yeatts. In addition to his wife, of the residence, and his mother, of Danville, he is survived by two sisters, Jerri L. Phillips and Melissa Gatewood, both of Danville; a brother, Robert A. Yeatts, of Dry Fork; 10 nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews and one great-niece.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dry Fork with the Rev. Kenneth Terry and the Rev. Roger Collins officiating. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3612 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549; or the Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department, 4860 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.
